On February 9th 2009, I was just meandering on KSL.com as I do every day and came across an article heading that read, “Utah lawmakers call for football playoff system.” I actually went and read this title for a second time to verify what my mind thought I saw. It was true; our Utah State Lawmakers have the time, resources, the justification and the guts to take time in this very tumultuous time in this economical history to worry about a trophy and name recognition. Utah shocked everyone and made Utah proud by not only beating Alabama, but crushing them in a National Bowl game which proved their determination as a college football team. They also ended the ’09 season undefeated. That being said and not to take away from their success… it’s a game, just like monopoly, Pictionary, and thumb wars. Can you imagine the Utah Lawmakers gathering together to discuss whether or not there should be a state or national level playoff system for thumb wars? Let me help… NO!!!! That was easy, and I have no experience as a law maker. Just food for thought in our wasteful, inefficient, and ridiculous world we live in. Even with these actions, as a major concern for me in the future of our Nation… I must still say… “God Bless The USA.” At least I can still write my opinion.
